Description:
DETAILS
- Department: Grants
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM, plus some weekends for community events. No on-call and no holidays.
- Hospital: Ascension St. Agnes

- Salary: $33.44-$50.16
Actual compensation offered will vary based on factors including applicable licenses, certifications, education, experience, location, qualifications and comparison with associates in similar roles.
Masters-Prepared Registered Dietitian (RD)
Experience in Diabetes Education
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is a plus
Experience with Gestational Diabetes Education
Proficient in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and Diabetes Self-Management Training (DSMT)
REQUIREMENTS
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Educator specializing in Diabetes Management credentialed from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities:
Educate patients, healthcare workers and the community about controlling diabetes through nutritional management.
- Coordinate with designated staff to effectively integrate medical nutrition therapy into the overall management of diabetes.
- Provide diabetes education for patients, healthcare workers and the community.
- Encourage the diabetes team to support, and reinforce nutrition prescriptions, and to help patients manage their meal plan.
- Supervise the planned education process for the goals of medical nutrition therapy for diabetes.
- Reinforce diabetes education, and instruction to the staff, and implement, and monitor educational plan of care.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers including receiving and writing orders to ensure effective, and efficient patient care, and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
