Your role at St John of God Ballarat
We are seeking applications for a Dietitian (Grade 2) to join our Allied Health team at Ballarat, on a permanent part-time basis.
Working as a Grade 2 Dietitian, you will work independently and demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge and depth of experience. The Grade 2 Dietitian is expected to initiate and participate in teaching, training, research and quality activities, to supervise students and supervise and mentor junior caregivers.

The Position

  • Provides a senior nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and or outpatients including management of more complex patients.
  • Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients/clients
  • Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate.
  • Uses expert nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards.
  • Document patients’ medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required.

Successful applicants will have completed a tertiary qualification in Dietetics, be eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA), and be an Accredited Practising Dietitian.
You will have experience providing clinical education and supervision to junior staff and students, and able to provide staff with clinical consults on interventions in areas of clinical speciality.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $94,474 to $107,963 (pro rata for part time)plus 11.5% Superannuation
  • Permanent part-time, working 22.8 hours per week
