QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Science degree in dietetics or in a field related to the primary responsibilities with two to four years of experience in program development and evaluation, menu and meal planning in a research and/or clinical trial environment.
  • Registered dietitian with the Ordre professionnel de dietetistes du Quebec (OPDQ).
  • Experience in scheduling use of facilities, personnel, and programs.
  • Previous experience in supervising students and delivering academic, professional, and/or community programming in nutrition and related fields.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Acrobat Pro.
  • Strong knowledge of nutrient analysis software such as “Food Processor” software.
  • Familiarity with experimental design, statistical analysis and data storage processes and systems.
  • Good communication skills (spoken and written) in both French and English (level 4).
  • Strong personal initiative, leadership skills and team work capabilities.
  • Strong planning, detail orientation, organizing, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in designing and delivering research protocols and internship modules.
  • Experience with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines for food management safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations and ensure the valid use, and operation of equipment in the Nutrition Suite for research, community and training activities.
  • Develop and maintain protocols and services to enhance and support research and training activities in the Nutrition suite.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate community programs and outreach activities as well as fee for service offerings.
  • Support and oversee internship and training activities in the Nutrition suite.
  • Supervise and train casual or research staff brought in on project specific basis and supervise and evaluate internship students. Conduct Nutrition Suite user orientation and evaluate trainee performance and preparedness for access to suite equipment/software.
  • Orient and ensure safety and preparedness of all participants, students, interns, users, faculty, and staff while in the Nutrition Suite.
  • Compile information and make budget recommendations for materials and shared consumables, supplies, repair and maintenance contracts for equipment in the Nutrition Suite.
  • Assist in the development, validation and delivery of research protocols by providing professional expertise concerning experimental design and execution to multidisciplinary collaborators and users in the Nutrition Suite and provide help with the interpretation of data generated from the Suite.
  • Maintain and review SOPs and School operating documents for research protocol development and facility/equipment use.
  • Oversee the scheduling of all activities by multiple users by planning, implementing, and scheduling all research, community and teaching programs in the Nutrition Suite.
  • Perform other duties in support of the unit as required.
