Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. A Permanent Part time opportunity is now available for a Dietitian to join the Allied Health Professional Team, located at Nepean Hospital.
The occupant of the position is responsible for the provision of high quality, evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetics Services to outpatients and staff of the Osteoporosis Refracture Prevention (ORP) clinic.

Your role as the Dietitian will be responsible for:

  • High level of clinical expertise and knowledge in general clinical Dietetics
  • Evaluating and developing the Dietetic ORP services to outpatients and other clients/staff
  • Regular and ongoing quality improvement activities
  • Attending relevant clinical and department meetings (ward rounds, case conferences, lectures, professional development sessions, staff meetings)
  • Designing and implementing nutritional counselling/education programs for patients and staff as required
  • Participating in Dietetics student supervision and teaching as required.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians’ Association of Australia
  • Up-to-date knowledge and skills in nutrition and dietetic practice
  • Current experience as a clinical dietitian, with post graduate experience
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience and confidence within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully both as part of a team and independently, while managing a high paced and high volume workload
  • High level computer skills in a wide variety of applications/programs, including experience with Diet Office/Food service IT systems or willingness to learn desirable
  • Experience in nutrition related quality improvement projects focusing on improvements in clinical patient care and/or services
  • Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
