Description:

American Public Media Group is looking for a Digital Analyst to join our Audience Insights & Analytics team. You will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the organization by providing insights and analytics on all digital properties across the organization. This position consults with and provides reporting, analysis, and actionable recommendations to various departments, including but not limited to Marketing, the Digital Content teams, Digital Product Development team, the Executive team, IT, and Membership/Development.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with web analytics tools, the ability to work with various stakeholders, and the desire and commitment to drive actionable business outcomes.
Expected Hourly Range: $29.32 - $34.13 / per hour. Exact hourly rate is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.
Location: St. Paul, Hybrid

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5 years experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role preferably with or supporting marketing, customer, or digital team.
  • 2–5 years of experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel).
  • Experience in data visualization and with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker
  • Working knowledge of major social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, YouTube) and their analytics tools.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • High-level understanding of digital media ecosystem and trends as well as experience with digital marketing programs such as search (PPC/SEO), social media, and others utilized to drive traffic.
  • Experience with SQL, Splunk SPL, or other programming languages
  • HTML & JavaScript
  • Experience working in media and/or at a non-profit

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data across platforms, including website traffic, social media followers, and podcast downloads, to inform business decisions and guide strategy.
  • Track performance metrics, evaluate the effectiveness of content and campaigns, and provide actional insights.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance existing reporting, identifying opportunities to automate existing reports and processes.
  • Discover patterns, examine data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and develop new analyses to help the organization drive business results.
  • Uncover patterns in data and translate them into insights and clearly articulate them to partner teams.
  • Keep informed of the latest trends and best practices in digital media.
  • Partner with the broader Audience Insights & Analytics team on projects related to donors, broadcast analytics, and audience research.
  • Other duties as assigned.
