Description:

Hardware & Software

  • To provide hardware and software technical support to staff and pupils, delivering a timely resolution in line with agreed deadlines.
  • To log and document service requests, recording actions taken to manage and resolve the request and provide feedback if issues cannot be resolved quickly.
  • To help with the deployment and maintenance of ICT/AV equipment and software.
  • Connect, set up and check PCs and peripherals for normal operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including installing software packages and setting common options.
  • To support printers in school, change toners and solve faults such as paper jams, etc.
  • Detect, diagnose and resolve PC, peripheral and application errors.
  • To comply with all requirements for the recycling of toner cartridges and other ICT / AV related materials (ensuring School is compliant with WEEE regulations at all times).
  • Perform routine tasks to maintain user accounts and permissions

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Digital and Data Administrator role is to support all aspects of Digital Services within the school. The administrator will work as directed by the Director of Digital and Data, providing a support service to pupils, staff and where required external users. They will also work closely with the Data Manager regarding all aspects of the Data Duties.

DIGITAL DUTIES:

Hardware & Software

Support & Training

  • Respond to all software and hardware enquiries received via the Digital helpdesk, email, telephone and in person.
  • Support staff and pupils in the use of Digital resources through direct interaction.
  • Train, induct and advise pupils and staff in the operation of unfamiliar software and hardware or upgrades.

Administration

  • Carry out stock checks of spare parts and consumable items, including printer consumables, and maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Report faults to outside agencies, prepare equipment for transit and monitor the repair process.
  • Undertake any other responsibility as directed by the Director of Digital and Data or Data Manager.

Other

  • Issue user accounts including Network and Email
  • Ensure that all passwords, access and other Digital facilities are cancelled for all leavers, liaising with the HR.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the Digital and IT space.

DATA DUTIES

  • Assist the Data Manager is maintaining the Management Information System (iSAMS) for Langley School at both the Prep and Senior school for the full year cycle.
  • Ensure the data within iSAMS is up to date and ready for the start of the new academic year, including new staff, pupils, timetables, etc
  • Make changes as needed throughout the school year to the set up of iSAMS for the smooth running of the school.
  • Assist with the set-up of data intensive events such as Parents Evenings
  • Assist the Data Manager in providing reports to SMT/HoDs/HoYs on Rewards and Conduct statistics
  • Assist the Data Manager in developing a comprehensive set of tracking reports using iSAMS and third-party applications such as SISRA.
  • Develop the use of 3rd Party Systems used across the school.
  • Assist with the reporting cycles for the school, including designing and setting up templates.
  • Assist with the publishing of academic reports to the Parent Portals.
  • Support the setting up of testing – Midyis/CEM etc and assist with the annual census
  • Assist the Data Manager with Data Analysis as required.
  • Assist the Data Manager with the set up and configuration of Registration for both the Senior and Prep School.
  • Keeping up to date with developments with iSAMS and support staff with training
  • In co-ordination with Admissions ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data stored within iSAMS and associated systems, including supporting with registration process for Open Mornings.
  • Troubleshoot problems with the MIS systems, liaising with iSAMS as required.
  • To provide cover and support for the Data Manager.
  • Any reasonable request made by the Data Manager and/or Director of Digital Services.
