Digital solution architects are the blueprint creator for an organization’s digital transformation. They bridge the gap between business strategy and technology implementation. They craft and develop a technical architecture to integrate technology to produce a complete business solution. Their tasks reach from applications’ architecture to databases, as well as their logical interdependencies with business processes.
Responsibilities:
YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for definition and continuous improvement of solution architecture and governance frameworks.
- Responsible for development of architecture roadmap and strategy for improving the technology landscape that helps achieve business outcomes
- Perform dependency analysis, opportunity assessment and provide architectural recommendations based on different projects and enhancements.
- Works closely with enterprise architecture group in developing and maintaining the technology modernization plan and exercises proper architecture planning to ensure alignment with the enterprise architecture
- Design architectures to allow incremental and orderly development of IT capabilities that deliver business value and are aligned with business priorities.
- Perform impact analysis on business and applications relating to changes in technologies, platforms, and shared services.
- Lead or participate in proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Innovative in problem solving/ troubleshooting
- Work independently and/ or on high-functioning agile teams as the solution architect and create requirements, designs and other architectural deliverables.
- Provide architectural guidance and leadership to teams and individuals, as appropriate
- Understand and respect procedures and policies such as project management or product management, configuration management, and version management
- Collaborate with the project manager in preparing project deliverables including business cases, briefing notes, risk reports etc.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders and provide recommendations and creative alternatives to the business,
- Provide oversight, guidance, and direction to the project team in all architecture domains pertaining to application, business, data, technology and security.
- Keep current on technology trends, industry innovations, emerging best practices, being an advocate and champion for cutting edge technology
- Attend conferences and participate in the local development community to bring modern and relevant solutions to our clients, be innovative and forward-thinking when developing solutions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
- Demonstrated ability in solution architecture, working with strategic or commercial applications and solutions
- In-depth knowledge of solution architecture concepts and methods
- Experience in application development in a hands-on technical role, such as developer or database administrator
- Experience in the design and development of integration components to integrate COTS products with enterprise services
- Experience modeling sophisticated business processes and translating them into understandable IT architectures and designs
- Able to explain highly complex technology concepts in non-technical terms
- Experience in the design and development of systems and service-oriented architecture (SOA) focusing on scalability, high performance, and optimization
- Demonstrated experience in leading the development of solution architectures for the replacement of and/or integrating new solutions with legacy mainframe-based applications
- Proven experience in architecture planning, management, associated methods, and processes
- Experience with the Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
- Demonstrated experience conducting and documenting vulnerability and code assessments
- Degree in IT, computer science, software development, or another related field
- IT and architecture certifications (e.g. Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Architecture Certification, TOGAF)
- Hands-on development experience with:
o Front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue
o Programing in .NET
o Relational database development, preference is SQL Server
o Implementing highly scalable solutions on Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
o Containers and platforms such as OpenShift
o Application deployment automation using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and/or Azure DevOps
o Setup and use of Git and GitHub
o Working in an agile development environment
o Setting up and configuring supporting technology and infrastructure such as proxies, web servers, certificates, etc.
- Experience leading a technical team
