Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting Siloam Mission’s communications strategy as directed by the Communications Supervisor. They will help strengthen Siloam’s capacity to engage donors and promote the Mission’s profile and initiatives through print, electronic, social, and public media.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, marketing, or related field
- Experience working in communications or marketing role
- Experience managing social media accounts, developing content for social media, and analyzing results and metrics
- Experience with online content management systems (WordPress, etc)
- Graphic design experience and familiarity with design and video editing software preferred
- Experience with donor/volunteer databases or CRM software is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/BEHAVIORS
- Superior written and verbal skills with demonstrated experience in effective writing
- Creative individual with an interest in marketing and storytelling for results -driven communications
- Be able to work independently and contribute positively to a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure professional environment
- Skilled at prioritizing and multitasking
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative suite
- Strong copy editing skills
- Photography and videography skills are an asset.
- Familiarity with issues surrounding poverty and homelessness is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Lead content development for and management of Siloam Mission’s social media, including monitoring analytics and advising on up-to-date best practices
- Lead any content creation (print, digital, audio/visual), including for newsletters, annual reports, and other publications – internal and external
- Working as a team to write and develop fundraising appeals
- Update content on Siloam’s website, Siloam’s intranet, and other online profiles
- Work with vendors to develop and deliver graphic, web, and print collateral
- Manage Constant Contact account, managing email lists, building and deploying emails
- Manage the Communications inbox, responding to or directing messages appropriately, including press inquiries
- Coordinate the Communications department’s technological assets, including digital accounts, audio & visual equipment, and other shared assets
- Stay up-to-date on relevant stories and developments in the sector
- Assist with and participate in events as part of the Development Team
- Other related communications, advocacy, and development team tasks as assigned.
