About the role
The post-holder will help to strengthen NOC’s brand and communicate organisational goals by developing content, reaching new audiences and building communities through social media and digital content channels. You will work closely with colleagues in the Communications and wider Engagement team to publicise the latest scientific developments and discoveries and help maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners and the public. You will also be tasked with finding new and interesting ways of communicating the importance of the ocean using engaging techniques and different types of content like podcasts and videos.
About you

We are looking for a dynamic digital marketing professional with a flair for social media who knows how to create relationships, build a community and share our high professional standards and values. As well as sharing our passion for the ocean and plant, the successful candidate will also have,

  • A strong background in Digital Communication and Social Media management, with an appetite to expand their knowledge and skills
  • Genuine passion for social media, with knowledge of the latest trends, developments and platforms (e.g. Instagram, Bluesky)
  • Experience of native social media management and use of CRM systems e.g. Brandwatch and HubSpot
  • An understanding of what messages, tone and visuals work on each platform and desire to get to know our audiences
  • Ability to analyse and report on key metrics relating to social media performance, website and press and media
  • An excellent eye for detail and the ability to work accurately
  • Awareness of the podcast production processes is desirable

Location
This position will be based in Southampton. The centre is well connected by public transport and has ample cycle parking in addition to free onsite car-parking with over 40 EV charging points.
