  • University background in Journalism, English Literature, Digital Marketing or similar content based qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.
  • Comfortable creating copy and content within strict company tone of voice guidelines.
  • Data driven and data literate, analytical and highly passionate.
  • Strong communicator and team player
  • A marketing mind (looking for insight into SEM, consumer and market trends)

    This role is ideally based at our Livingston Head Office. However, we do aim to be as flexible as possible and there is potential for this to be a remote role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

schuh is one of the UK’s leading fashion footwear retailers. Following significant digital growth, we are looking for an ambitious, driven, and enthusiastic Digital Content and SEO Assistant to join the Digital Marketing team.
The main purpose of the role will be to help in the daily creation of both website copy and outreach articles. You will ensure all copy is optimised according to SEO best practises and outreached to journalists or uploaded to our website CMS in a timely manner. Working alongside the SEO & Digital Content Lead you will have joint responsibility for the day to day management of our organic search channel and the strategy that will allow us to reach our ambitious goals. Extensive training will be provided including hands-on practical SEO coaching as well as wider exposure to our digital marketing strategy.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the management and development of search optimised website content.
  • Create engaging outreach copy using internal data to produce shareable content that fits within the schuh content & copy guidelines.
  • Work toward agreed traffic and performance benchmarks aiming to suggest incremental improvements where possible.
  • Produce detailed analysis and engaging reports of outreach campaign activities to be shared with the wider ecommerce/marketing team.
  • Identify market trends and internal insights, to form optimised website content and outreach articles.
  • Work with external agencies to continually review and improve search for schuh.
  • Working alongside retail team to ensure consistency across store opening hours and local listings
  • Be an ambassador for schuh, communicating our brand DNA confidently to third parties
  • Stay up to date with the latest SEM news and search engine algorithm developments
  • Learn and provide support to the Digital Trading, Social Media team, and other digital channels as necessary
