Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Digital Content Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing digital content across various platforms to enhance our online presence and engage our target audience. This role requires a deep understanding of digital marketing strategies, the ability to analyse and interpret data to make informed decisions.
The Digital Content Specialist will work closely with the marketing team, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all content aligns with our brand voice and business objectives. Key responsibilities include developing quarterly content strategy, content calendars, planning email newsletters, paid media, SMS and other digital content.
Additionally, the Digital Content Specialist will be expected to stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our content strategy. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position
- Matric and related tertiary education in digital content/marketing
- Ability to manage social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram) is essential
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is advantageous
- High-level understanding of performance media (Facebook & Google), email communication strategies and overall digital insights & analytics.
- Domain knowledge in retail, online advertising and eCommerce with strong affinity to the Cape Union Mart and K-Way Brands.
- You will need experience in and a passion for creating content, that supports our brand awareness and lead generation efforts
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to think creatively
- Ability to translate content it into engaging and thought-provoking messages
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships across geographies and levels
- Highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement content strategies that align with business goals.
- Monitoring the creation and publishing of the content for our blog, website, and social media platforms
- Reporting – weekly and monthly reports on campaign performance
- Researching competitors, target market, and relevant keywords for our digital marketing strategies
- Running digital content campaigns for our website and social media
- Participating in planning and implementation of effective marketing campaigns
- Collaborating with Graphic Designers and Illustrators to come up with appropriate visual content
- Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences, utilising storytelling techniques to enhance engagement and drive brand loyalty.
- Monitoring performance of the content across all digital media platforms
- Editing content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style
- Writing content for various platforms, including blogs and social media posts, when necessary
- Making sure all content follows the best SEO practices and our company’s style guidelines
- Managing our marketing, writing, and design teams to ensure everyone meets their deadlines
- Manage brand messaging on social networks
- Produce and host videos for YouTube and website base on content plan and marketing goals.

- Quarterly planning and content roll out
- Planning and calendar management – overall marketing calendar
- Assist with the day-to-day assembly & deployment of required social media (Facebook, Instagram + Twitter), mailer & SMS comms when required
- Brief all digital content requirements into the design studio in accordance with agreed lead times.
- Work closely with community managers to actively seek out and act on engagement opportunities within our online communities
- Utilise Marketing Cloud and Email on Acid effectively and accurately to deploy mailers, build customer journeys and perform A/B testing
- Monthly budget tracking and accurate reporting on variances
- Utilise AI tools to effectively streamline your work
