What you need to know about the role -
As part of our internal studio team The Gym Works you’ll work in a team of designers and artworkers who are accountable for developing highly effective branded digital assets across a range of touchpoints. Working across paid media channels, CRM but also providing digital design expertise for The Gym Group’s website and app, you’ll be a brand guardian who is accountable for delivering creative excellence across some of our most critical channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating digital design assets for The Gym Group website & App.
- Campaign support - collaborating with the Studio Manager, marketing team, and stakeholders to support campaign initiatives with visually stunning and cohesive design elements.
- As part of the above, creating engaging email campaigns and creating digital assets for paid digital media channels and social media.
- Bringing fresh ideas and approaches, as well as being knowledgeable of current industry trends
- Introducing key trends from design, including digital and CRM by sharing best practices from other brands & retailers.
- Collaborating with the other members of the team to build a thriving work environment where knowledge and ideas are shared.
- Demonstrating best in class collaboration cross functionally with the UX/UI team to play a pivotal role in strengthening the design community within The Gym Group business.
- Creating best in class animated/motion graphic assets for all channels.
- Conceptual design - developing innovative and impactful visual concepts and designs that align with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
- Brand consistency / brand guardianship - ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all design deliverables, maintaining a strong and recognisable brand identity.
- Collaborating with other teams and agencies to deliver integrated campaign and projects effectively.
- Feedback and iteration - incorporating feedback from stakeholders and iterate on designs to achieve optimal results and alignment with project goals.
- Broader campaign support – capability to get involved in all briefs going through the studio during peak periods, including designing for print (internal documentation, campaign leaflets through to OOH) and PowerPoint presentation design (template updates and animation).
What we are looking for in our next Digital Designer -
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Aftereffects)
- Experience designing assets for web, app, CRM – including email and in-app content
- Strong understanding of dark mode, accessibility requirements and thinking mobile first
- Experience designing assets for paid digital media campaigns including display and paid social – with practice across dynamic creative optimisation and the usage of organic social assets in paid advertising.
- Familiarity working with a design system
- Experience using Figma
- Strong understanding of best practice with layout and type hierarchy for digital marketing channels
- Highly creative with a good eye for detail and a passion for design
- Collaboration – working with multiple teams and stakeholders
- Experience working in an eCommerce business is an advantage
- Motion experience
