POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Digital Marketing Specialist works within The Globe’s marketing department to drive direct engagement with The Globe’s products and journalists, with a focus on events, editorial newsletters, podcasts, and courses. They are experienced in marketing communication and capable of designing and executing campaigns across multiple channels, including social, email and globeandmail.com. This is a great opportunity for a marketing professional who is eager to experiment, learn and iterate while adopting emerging technologies and disciplined in their approach. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in Marketing, Communications or Business, or a digital marketing certificate with 5-7 years’ experience in omnichannel marketing
  • A solid understanding of digital marketing principles, including audience segmentation and targeting, multi-channel presence with a focus on email, search, and social) and campaign management
  • Proven experience optimizing marketing campaigns and lead nurturing
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, including proven experience of activating campaigns against key segments across multiple marketing channels
  • Experience with web-based analytics tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, and all consent management practices, including CASL and PIPEDA and GDPRI
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and/or web standards and technologies (i.e. HTML, Java, CSS, video and image formats) is an asset

VACCINATION POLICY:

All offers of employment with The Globe and Mail are conditional upon the candidate being Fully Vaccinated.   • Planning, developing and executing automated digital marketing campaigns to promote and drive engagement with The Globe’s editorial newsletters, events, podcasts and online courses
  • Briefing The Globe’s internal CEM team and external creative agency to design campaigns and deliver personalized marketing communications to targeted audience segments
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders in The Globe’s UX, analytics and sales teams to track and optimize the customer journey and onsite experience
  • Engaging The Globe’s legal team to meet privacy and security requirements and maintain brand standards
  • Assessing performance metrics on all digital platforms against goals, preparing campaign and impact performance summaries and providing recommendations for continual improvement based on results
