Digital Product Owner

We seek a talented Digital Product Owner to take ownership of driving the successful development of our digital products.
If you have experience with product development lifecycle, gathering technical requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, have an understanding of software development and design with Agile development, particularly within the Scrum framework, we want you on our team!

As a Digital Product Owner at Empowering Tech, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritise product features, create conceptual designs, develop user stories, manage the development backlog, and drive the product roadmap. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our digital products meet customer needs and deliver exceptional user experiences.

• Lead the digital design process and champion best practices, ensuring the development team builds products that meet business objectives and user needs
• Create a practical and realistic product developmental roadmap to drive the direction and progression of the product development
• Ensure consistent communication of objectives and progress across all stakeholders
• Monitor product performance, analyse data and make data-driven decisions to optimise product success
• Track and manage the developmental lifecycle
• Maintain evidential documentation of software technical and design requirements
• Understanding of the dependencies between frontend and backend software, and the development lifecycle
• Understand user needs, preferences, and priorities, and effectively communicate these to the development team
• Conduct user testing and gather feedback to continuously improve the product
• Create and manage the product backlog, prioritising features, user stories, and tasks
• Collaborate with the development team to select items from the product backlog for upcoming sprints

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Design Engineering, Computer Sciences or similar
• Proven experience as a Digital Product Owner on at least one or more of mobile, web, desktop or embedded software
• A strong understanding of product development principles and Agile methodologies
• Experienced using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Agile/Scrum, Confluence)
• Previous leadership experience, with a track record of leading and inspiring design teams to achieve excellence
• Experience in understanding UX design and user-centred principles
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills
• Passion for education, design technology, creativity and continuous learning
