Responsibilities:
We are on a look out for a dynamic Digital Product Owner, who will be at the forefront of working with the business and our key vendors to drive digital innovation and shape the future of our digital banking products. This role requires a critical, strategic thinker with a strong understanding of both banking operations and digital technology. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, secure digital solutions that enhance our members experience, drive revenue growth, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy Development: In consultation with the relevant business owners, develop and articulate a clear digital product strategy aligned with the bank’s overall vision and goals, and the vendor’s product roadmap. Stay abreast of industry trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to continuously refine and enhance the product roadmap.
- Product Leadership: Work with the cross-functional team, providing mentorship and support to ensure the successful delivery of our digital products. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. Coach and mentor SME’s and product managers.
- Stakeholder Management: Establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to effectively communicate product vision, priorities, and progress to ensure alignment and support.
- Product Lifecycle Management:
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of all the product aspects, including the member and user perspective, competitive products and our technical capabilities.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to launch to ongoing optimisation.
- Define product requirements, prioritise features, and manage backlog grooming and sprint planning activities through structured engagement with key stakeholders.
- Lead planning activities with the team responsible for defining and writing user stories, acceptance criteria and user interface design for platform and product enhancements.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Champion a customer-centric approach to product development, leveraging user research, feedback, and analytics to inform decision-making and drive product enhancements.
- Risk and Compliance: Ensure that all digital products comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to mitigate risk and maintain a strong control environment. Proactively identify risks and recommends actions to avoid, mitigate or accept risks. Promotes a sound risk culture by routinely analysing, avoiding, mitigating or accepting risks.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimisation: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of digital products. Analyse data and insights to identify opportunities for optimization and drive continuous improvement.
