Description:

East of England’s Digital Elective Team is looking for an exceptional Digital Programme Manager who is enthusiastic about improving the lives of patients through digital health technology. You’ll be working as part of a team who are focussed on developing and driving the digital health strategy across the region.
You will be responsible, as part of a small team, working on a range of exciting digital projects such as Mobile First (the NHS App as the single digital front door), realising the value of Patient Engagement Portals and NHS App in secondary care, using digital technology to support waiting list management, optimising referrals and identifying the opportunities for the use of digital tools across the care pathway.
You will be responsible for the day to day leadership, oversight, coordination, resource management, reporting and impact assessment of our regional digital elective care improvement programme. This will include supporting the wider team with the development, management and reporting of programme progress on our Aspyre digital project management system and risks and issues are identified.
This is an exciting and varied role offering the opportunity to influence and manage a range of high profile digital improvement projects and programmes to benefit patients, support regional elective care recovery and embed an improvement approach within the programmes.
We are looking for candidates who have extensive digital programme management experience and a track record of coordinating and managing the resources and reporting for multiple projects in a health care setting.
This role requires an individual to work proactively and on their own initiative, with the ability to manage integrated programmes of work. The ability to work in a fast paced work environment with competing priorities will be a necessary requirement. Curiosity and a desire to explore how we can continuously seek to improve how we deliver our work are assets we are looking for.
We work across a wide range of digital stakeholders including national teams, other regional Directorates, ICBs, Trusts as well as clinicians and operational leads so excellent communication and relationship building skills are necessary.
The use of data and information to inform and track our work plans, such as uptake and benefits realised from national initiatives (such as the NHS App) are essential and a good working knowledge of how to use and visualise date to demonstrate progress and impact, working in partnership with our regional data analysts is important for this role.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. It is essential for this role that the postholder can quickly gain an understanding of the digital elective improvement care programmes. The specific responsibilities are:

  • Supporting with the overall development of a digital culture across the region as part of the Elective Improvement Programme.
  • Collaborating with systems to understand to support the delivery of Patient Engagement Portals and the NHS App across the region.
  • Collaborating with system leads / Trust in ensuring high validation rates across the region through the use of digital and non-digital enablers.
  • Supporting the development and utilisation to increase the use of remote (video and telephone) consultations.
  • Collaborating with systems and the Elective Care lead for Referral Optimise to identify opportunities where digital tools and techniques can support the management of referrals into secondary care.
  • Embedding digital transformation within the Elective Improvement Programme including holding events and sessions to raise awareness of best practice within digital enablers across the region.
  • Facilitating the development of robust data to inform a data driven approach to identify digital opportunities along the care pathways.

This is a hybrid post. Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person. There is also an expectation of attendance at monthly, face to face meetings at Victoria house, Cambridge.
