Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Digital Skills Assessor/Trainer to join our Adult Learning Centre and deliver high quality digital skills courses to Adult Learners. This role provides the opportunity to have a significant impact on the digital literacy and employability of adult learners in the area.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging sessions and assessing learner progress via one to one tutorials, classroom style workshops and assessment marking.
Please note that this role is Part Time, working 15 hours per week Tuesday to Thursday.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • A Level 2 IT qualification
  • GCSE A*-C/ 4-9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English and Maths
  • An assessor qualification or a commitment to work towards the assessor and IQA qualification

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience delivering IT/digital skills to adult learners, preferably in an open learning environment or community setting, facilitating learners working at their own pace on different applications and at different levels.
  • Delivery of small group workshops (8-12 learners)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the curriculum tailored to the needs of adult learners, covering a range of digital skills topics such as basic computer literacy, internet navigation, digital communication and software applications
  • Deliver engaging and interactive sessions, using a variety of instructional techniques and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Manage a case load of learners as designated by the Curriculum Team Leader.
  • Carry out inductions, initial assessments and provide advice and guidance.
  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development. Use assessment results to adapt teaching strategies and materials as needed.
  • Complete Individual Learning Plans, review and report upon the progress of learners.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to learners, addressing any barriers or challenges they may encounter in their learning journey. Offer additional resources and assistance to help learners achieve their learning objectives.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and development in digital technology and incorporate relevant tools and applications into sessions to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress and achievements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to the overall success of the digital skills courses.
  • Responsible for the coordination and upkeep of training/assessment records and exams process as designated by the Curriculum Team Leader.
