Decision Technologies seeks a qualified Digital Software Engineer (Mid-Level) to join our on-site team in San Diego, CA, or Arlington, VA. Some hybrid work arrangements may be possible.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the digital transformation of the Naval Operational Architecture, model-based systems engineering of critical Naval cross-domain mission threads, and cybersecurity engineering of the next-generation Naval information systems and tactical networks. Decision Technologies seeks motivated individuals with broad skillsets and experiences who can demonstrate a history of achievement in engineering services for the Navy and/or larger DoD.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
  • 3 years of professional experience performing Model-Based Systems Engineering

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting.
  • Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
  • Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification
  • Familiarity and experience working with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other warfare systems.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 25% to various Naval activity centers, including San Diego, CA; Washington, DC; Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; Denver, CO; and Hawaii.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a system security plan and any associated plans of action needed to satisfy the adequate security requirements of DFARS 252.204-7012, and in accordance with NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-171. Develop security plans and processes to support technical reviews including Program Protection Plan (PPP), cybersecurity strategy, security classification guide, critical program information (CPI), critical technologies (CT), anti-tamper plan, software assurance, and supply chain assessment.
  • Provide recommendations and assistance during engineering events and with certification related functions required by the Information Assurance Technical Authority (IATA) mission.
  • Identify risks associated with the system of system cybersecurity designs, maximizing common and inheritable security controls in support of a defense in-depth strategy.
  • Support Information Technology security implementation through closed networks, virtual private networks, public key-enabled encryption, transport layer security, and providing protection against computer network intrusions and data exfiltration.
