Description:

The purpose of the role is to lead and deliver test activity for infrastructure and application related change projects of varying size and scope. This role will require very good Stake Holder management skills. The role may also require to manage internal test resources as well as have dotted responsibilities of partner/vendor resources working in the project.

What you’ll be doing as a Digital Test Manager

  • Responsible for all testing phases of assigned Project(s) – functional (eg Unit, Component, Component Integration, System, System Integration, Regression, UAT), Non-Functional (eg Resilience, Disaster Recovery, Performance, Capacity, User, Security (Vulnerability/Penetration) and Operational Acceptance Testing (Backup/Restoration, Incident Management, etc.)
  • Ability to write robust Test Strategy for the program/project
  • Agree the Test Environment Specification and co-ordinate environment requirements with Test Environment Management
  • Responsible for the quality of all testing phases for assigned Projects
  • Ensure Test Results and Test Report are signed off by relevant Thames Water stakeholders and gain approval from Change Management Team
  • Provide test thought leadership to help shape and inform appropriate User Acceptance Test User cases for assigned projects
  • Influence internal stakeholders, suppliers and partners within the assigned projects and ensuring that testing activity required is executed within agreed deadlines
  • Develop and maintain broad business understanding and deep Business Change Management expertise, including knowledge of the activities and practices within Thames Water and those of suppliers, partners, competitors and clients
  • Plan, schedule and monitor work to meet time and quality targets
  • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders involved in the Test Lifecycle to achieve Testing Objectives for assigned projects

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Degree in Computer Science or related subject
  • ISTQB Foundation in Testing
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of IT systems development methods, techniques and processes for Cloud, Web Services, Mid-Range, Mainframe platforms and end user compute with experience in Waterfall and Agile
  • Ability to talk with authority on testing concepts and explaining them in a way that non-testers can understand
