Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A DIGITAL WORKPLACE TECHNICIAN (JUNIOR)?

The successful incumbent will be required to provide first & second level support in the digital to operator (D2O) domain, by resolving IT related requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. This will include but not limited to Workplace (Hardware, workplace software installation, printers, communication - telephone & video conference, and mobile devices.
The Digital Workplace Technician will also be required to form part of the Global IT projects.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows) and across a range of software applications.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose network problems
  • Monitor backup and replication services
  • Assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon
  • Responsible for problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to application consultants
  • Accurately record, update and document requests using the Service-Now incident reporting tool
  • Install and configure new IT equipment, resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware, coupled with the supporting equipment, namely printers, copiers and scanners, etc.
  • Maintain a first class level of customer service ensuring that all staff and external customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner
  • Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization
  • Responsible to liaise with IT contractors when their services are required on site
  • Monitor and facilitate service level agreements with IT service providers
  • Assist with managing IT contractors that come on to site to execute work
  • Maintain Servers, virtual machines, data storage and backup replication, Routers, Switches and all back end services
  • Support the full life cycle of local business applications and hardware
  • Assisting in managing IT & Automation projects as well as development & testing
  • Provide IT & Automation afterhours standby support
