Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

You would be joining the Direct Tax Services team is a part of our Global Business Services organization and is characterized by a strong sense of commitment – towards the tasks, the business and the team.
The Tax Services team is operationally responsible for tax and is spread over many geographies. This role reports to the Direct Tax Reporting Manager, both will be based in Lisbon, in our very recent branch at the heart of Parque das Nações.
This role is responsible for performing direct tax-related activities and services with a specific focus on executing accurate and timely reporting and payments for all direct tax returns for the applicable legal entities. The role will work mainly with legal entities in Spain and Italy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute accurate and timely reporting and payments for all direct tax returns for the applicable legal entities;
  • Validate and submit all direct tax reporting filings and requirements for the applicable legal entities, including maintaining direct tax records and information;
  • Prepare the direct tax internal Report pack for the Group in Sweden;
  • Handle tax payments, refunds, and reconcile the direct tax accounts;
  • Provide input and requested information to the direct tax business partner and other stakeholders, including participation in tax audits and relevant projects;
  • Be the first line of contact for questions related to direct tax, whether sent via tickets or raised by internal teams or Tax Authorities. Escalate as needed;
  • Carry out relevant tax trainings for AP and Accounting, in cooperation with the direct tax reporting manager and direct tax business partner. Ensure processes and guidelines are followed and provide input for improvements;
  • Be involved in projects related to implementing solutions for direct tax requirements in SAP and other relevant tools, as well as other projects requiring input from the direct tax reporting team.

To be successful in the role you need to be organized by nature, analytical and operate with a problem-solving and service-minded approach, embracing change and dealing with ambiguity and complexity.

  • University degree in tax/economics/business or equivalent with relevant practice;
  • Minimum 3-years of relevant working experience within direct tax and knowledge in direct tax reporting (preferably Spain and Italy);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team;
  • Strong analytical skills, structured way of working, flexibility and openness to change;
  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office and experience with financial reporting systems;
  • Strong English language skills (Spanish and Italian language skills will be a plus)
  • Ability to travel when circumstances allow
