EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical and or electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.

EXPERIENCE

• 5-7 years of team leadership within manufacturing and unionized environment.
• 5 years of management experience.
• Strong experience in project management.
• Bilingual,
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams is required.
• Member of Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
• Ability with information systems (SAP, Autocad and Office suite).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

• Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety and quality procedures, HR policies, and budgeting.
• Ability to lead teams.
• Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology.

Reporting to the Mix Center Manager, the incumbent will plan, organize & direct all maintenance and engineering activities for the Valleyfield Mixing Centre team. This also includes the power generation house. Mainly, the incumbent will lead the activities of the Maintenance Team to facilitating major projects & initiatives in a participative management manufacturing environment. Effect favourable production costs, engineering spend & continuous improvement efforts through personally directed projects & provide peer leadership for the accomplishment of common business goals.

• Leads a reliability improvement culture by developing & implementing all reliability activities in the Plant. These activities include root cause failure analysis, and proactive activities to identify & eliminate problems utilizing predictive tools.
• Train, mentor & coach teams to improve plant performance. Responsible for team development & succession planning.
• Manage the Plants Capital investment program ensuring the plants equipment will meet the needs of the Business. Stay abreast of new developments in technology to ensure continual improvements in plant equipment and efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance to all EHS, Quality System, Corporate & Legal requirements.
• Track and Manage all Engineering & Maintenance costs to ensure compliance to business requirements.
