WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Gearbox Studio is looking for a passionate and experienced Gameplay Director to join our development team and lead the gameplay design of an FPS (First Person Shooter) game. As the Gameplay Director, you will play a key role in defining the player experience, ensuring that game mechanics, balance, and immersion align perfectly with the project’s vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, in partnership with the Creative Director, the Gameplay vision that will leverage the project’s pillars. This includes game mechanics, level design, mission design, game progression, UX, and playtests.
  • Work closely with game designers to refine and improve game systems, including combat, artificial intelligence, weapons, and environmental interactions.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate design direction to all team members and external partners.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to establish the project’s scope and priorities.
  • Guide, inspire, and support multidisciplinary teams throughout the project.
  • Review completed work and provide clear feedback to encourage a culture of quality and accountability.
