: The salary range for this position is CAD $59.56/Hr. - CAD $85.62/Hr.
Summary:
Providence Research is now accepting applications for a net new, permanent full-time Director, Administration.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, Providence Research (PR), the Director, Administration provides oversight and leadership for PR’s administrative team in alignment with Providence Health Care (PHC). Working with the PR Director of Operations and the relevant corporate departments at PHC and UBC/SFU, as applicable, the Director, Administration oversees finance, human resources, communications, ethics and contract matters at PR. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Director, Administration is central to the management of PR’s day-to-day administrative needs to ensure the teams function effectively in support of PR’s overarching goals. The Director, Administration liaises with various faculty, staff and students within PR and various research groups, as well as with other stakeholders.
Working in close collaboration with PR’s executive leadership, the Director, Administration has overarching responsibility to ensure the delivery of high quality, timely, effective, and efficient institutional administration in support of research, and collaborative services within a research-intensive environment and in accordance with internationally recognized levels of excellence. The Director, Administration has direct responsibility for coordinating PR-wide administrative goals and initiatives to enable scientific excellence, continuous planning, quality improvement, and risk management.

What You Bring:

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field and a Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or Project Management. Ten (10) years of experience in research management and administration that includes at least two (2) years’ experience in leadership of management and administration staff within a research centre or department.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of financial, human resources and administrative methodologies to recommend organizational standards and practices and to build capacity.
  • Knowledge of legal and requirements related administrative and business operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork, inter-department and inter-agency co- ordination and inter-disciplinary communication.
  • Strategic and project management, planning and execution skills. Ability to use excellent judgment in the evaluation of new initiatives and programs.
  • Demonstrated creativity and originality in problem identification and resolution and ability to communicate with and facilitate dialogue between diverse groups locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skill, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced-and dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven experience in all aspect of budget development, management, and reporting. Demonstrated experience in scope, time, cost, and quality management.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective leadership skills and ability to provide motivational leadership to direct and indirect reports at all levels.
  • Relationship management to work collegially with teams, staff, executives, collaborators, partners and funders, and proven experience in identifying opportunities to build new or expand existing relationships.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
