Overview:

The Discovery Sciences team at RTI International has been involved in conducting a broad array of natural science research for more than 30 years and has an experienced team of scientists that is well equipped with advanced instrumentation and infrastructure for chemical analyses, including:

  • High-throughput screening
  • Measurements of contaminants in environmental media
  • Analytical method development
  • Physiochemical characterization
  • Dose formulation development, validation, and dose analysis
  • Bioanalytical method development, validation, and analysis
  • Stability measurements
  • Pharmacokinetic studies
  • In vitro studies
  • Targeted and non-targeted assays
  • Metabolomics and proteomics research
  • Controlled materials handling and repository services

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced analytical chemist or related field to serve as the Director of the Analytical Sciences Center within the Discovery Sciences team. In this capacity, you will have full technical, strategic, and fiscal responsibility for an organization with annual revenue exceeding $15M and a large, diverse staff of more than 70 scientific professionals. The Analytical Sciences center supports a wide variety of clientele, including those in the domestic private sector, the U.S. federal and state governments, and trade associations and is well equipped with specialized facilities and advanced analytical instrumentation, including optical and electron microscopy, X-ray analysis, mass spectrometry, chromatography, metals analysis, and many other systems.
As the leader of the Analytical Sciences leadership team, you will oversee all center operations while building and leading a multidisciplinary research team. You will provide continuous guidance, mentorship, and real-time feedback to team members, along with conducting performance evaluations to ensure growth and excellence, while actively advocating for the Analytical Sciences Center with RTI Executive Leadership and other senior management, securing essential resources for the center’s ongoing growth and success. In alignment with RTI’s mission and overarching goals, you will develop and articulate a clear vision for the team, promoting transparency in communication while advocating for senior management’s support.
