The Ministry of Justice and Attorney General provides a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to the government. The Ministry is responsible for justice services and court administration services, legal aid, prosecution services, administrative tribunals, civil and family justice services, compliance and enforcement, policy and providing legal and legislative services to the Government.
The Ministry is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and strategic leader for the role of Director, Audit Services, within the Corporate Services Division. This position will establish the strategic direction and vision of the internal audit function for the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General.
Reporting administratively to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Corporate Services, the successful candidate will:
- establish a comprehensive, integrative audit vision and strategy;
- provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services to ensure ministry and programs and initiatives are meeting strategic objectives;
- develop and implement a risk based internal audit plan to evaluate internal controls, assess compliance with legislation and financial policy, and monitor the efficient use of government resources;
- bring sound knowledge of internal audit practices, financial management, risk management, governance, and control processes; and
- demonstrate and utilize technology and risk management capabilities for operational excellence.
