The Barbican Creative Hub is a transformative and vibrant addition to Lincolnshire’s cultural and creative landscape, set to launch in early Spring 2025. Located in an iconic historic building in the heart of Lincoln, it will be a new home and catalyst for the Creative Industries.
The Director will be responsible for establishing the Barbican as a creative crucible for Lincolnshire that will transform its cultural ecology, nourish and support creative communities, develop job opportunities, and enrich the lives of residents. A special focus is on developing the skills and experience of those at the beginning of their careers and retaining talent in the area.
You will bring entrepreneurial flair and passion to building new partnerships; creating opportunities for creatives to collaborate, innovate, experiment and showcase their work; and identifying sources of income to fund job support and start-up programmes. Balancing innovation, creativity with sound business sense and an understanding of both the private, third sector and policy contexts, they will deliver on these ambitions in a financially sustainable way.
This is an exciting time to join the University of Lincoln and the Centre for Culture and Creativity. We are committed to transforming lives and communities through our teaching, research and civic activity. We are known for our pioneering approach to working with industry and our unique relationships with regional, national and international partners, acknowledged through national awards over the past decade. We are a significant regional anchor institution in the culture and creative sector and the Barbican Creative Hub represents a transformational asset to continue to drive ambition into the future.
