REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree (Marketing/Communications/Advertising/MBA would be considered an asset).
  • 15+ years’ experience in brand management across Tier 1 financial services, retail, consumer goods, and agency environments. Experience in successfully leading high-impact digital brands and ad campaigns that deliver strong marketing ROI and measurable business results would be an asset.
  • A proven ability to translate strategic vision into innovative, digitally led marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness and differentiation.
  • Experience partnering with suppliers and leading qualitative and quantitative research, competitive analysis and other research and analytical approaches.
  • Track record of driving customer led innovation and transformational change.
  • Ability to operationalize marketing strategy and create systems, tools and processes to enable team to scale across multiple segments.
  • Experience managing P&L and owning accountability for profitable top line growth through integrated marketing.
  • Strong ability to leverage data and insights to inform strategy, measure effectiveness, and optimize brand performance.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing and inspiring teams, navigating cross-functional relationships, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Extensive experience managing and inspiring agency relationships, ensuring brand breakthrough work while also maintaining timely and cost-effective outputs.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As the Director of Brand Management and Advertising, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our brand and marketing strategies. The successful candidates will lead the integration of business and brand planning into comprehensive regional and national marketing strategies and winning tactics with measurable short- and long-term returns. The successful candidate will partner with the Director of Corporate Communications and other Leaders to gain insights to client needs, to evolve the approach to strategic planning and go to market strategy in line with the company vision and values of always innovating to earn the right to be the Client’s first choice.
This role will operate on a hybrid working model and will be based in our Vancouver or Toronto office.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development of integrated brand and business plans that align with Nicola Wealth’s growth strategies and objectives. Translate these plans into marketing strategies that drive brand awareness and client acquisition.
  • Oversee a holistic approach to research and analysis of industry trends to identify unique positioning opportunities for Nicola Wealth.
  • Oversee the development and integration of consumer and business insights data and client segmentation to inform actionable plans.
  • Inspire and enable the Demand Generation Team to advance data collection capabilities and build out data mining approaches that translate into effective integrated digital marketing strategies which elevates the client experience.
  • Establish brand management processes ensuring an efficient approach to business and brand strategy including segmentation development and marketing calendar development across various channels.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and Agency Partners to develop and execute cohesive campaigns based on consumer and brand insights to drive consistent brand imaging/VIS ID and optimize channel performance.
  • Coach and inspire high performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
