EDUCATION:
4-year college degree or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years’ experience in business continuity and crisis management disaster recovery or related field
Knowledge of technology and business concepts, life cycles, and processes
Experience Implementing ISO 22301 Standards
Business Continuity Certification CBCP or higher
Previous experience interacting with auditors / regulators preferred
Previous experience interacting with Sr. Leadership

Responsibilities:
Leads enterprise-wide contingency planning/business continuity to support and improve DaVita’s capability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions. Establishes a framework and methodology for completion of contingency plans by internal business units. Coordinates training, communication, and testing of plans. Drives opportunities for improvement and serves as the subject matter expert on business continuity risk management matters by developing and maintaining strong positive working relationships with business units, peers, and senior management.
Key Accountabilities:
Business Continuity Program: Oversee and maintain DaVita’s enterprise-wide business continuity framework to ensure the program remains current, adequately addresses identified risks, and meets regulatory requirements. Assist lines of business to identify, mitigate, and manage business continuity risks, including unique or single points of failure that could cause an extended business disruption. Support business impact analysis and assist business units in determining level of criticality of business processes, acceptable recovery time periods, and required resources. Design, facilitate, and implement training and awareness programs on business continuity related concepts.
Crisis/Emergency Management: Provide leadership support during crisis events, including scheduling and facilitating status meetings; tracking completion of action plans; developing and distributing status updates; managing activation of recovery strategies; and creating post-incident reports. Ensure coordination of planning, testing, and response activities between crisis management, information technology, and information security.
Disaster Recovery and Third Party Resiliency: Liaise with IT to ensure Disaster Recovery Plans are properly documented, maintained and tested. Coordinate with Vendor Risk Management to further assess business resilience of third parties that are critical to operations.
Testing and Exercises: Oversee the testing of documented business continuity and crisis management plans to provide reasonable assurances of effectiveness. Work with business units and Information Technology to ensure testing for critical systems, including third party systems to ensure that appropriate strategies are in place to respond to, restore, and minimize disruption to in-house and outsourced critical technology systems. Analyze testing results and ensure business lines remediate exceptions and incorporate lessons learned. Ensure testing activities are documented.
Administer ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management Practices. Proactively work to improve the quality within the system and leverage the system to streamline processes and gain efficiencies. Validate and monitor gaps identified during audits, exercises, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring to support adherence to Business Continuity Policy/Charter. Lead business lines on best practices in the development of their business continuity plans.
Emergency Notification System: Administer DaVita’s emergency notification system, including user access, training, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, data validation, and generation of emergency notifications, as required.
Provide oversight and project management for any Continual Improvement projects identified during Event Post Mortem After action plans.
Risk Assessment: Oversee DaVita’s business continuity risk assessments, including the Business Continuity Mid-Tier Risk Assessment. Maintain current business continuity threat assessments and analyze the results of the threat assessments and business impact analyses to adjust business continuity documentation and processes to ensure that identified risks are managed, monitored, and reported, as needed.
Steering Committee and Board Reporting: Prepare and deliver periodic presentations to the various committees on the status of the Business Continuity Program, identified risks, and results of testing.
Additional Accountabilities:
Maintain technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in business continuity management; attend educational workshops; review professional publications; and establish personal networks. Stay abreast of compliance with regulatory guidelines and requirements.
Ensures compliance with all Healthcare laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.
