Description:
As the leader of our Ontario business development team at Desjardins Insurance, you will be responsible for our large group segment (over 50 employees). You will be expected to meet sales, persistency and profitability targets while driving performance excellence and best practices. Reporting to the Regional Vice-President, you will play a key role in our growth strategy in Ontario. You will inspire your team members to put the advisor and client first while living Desjardins’ values. You will collaborate with internal partners such as operations and underwriting, to ensure that the service offering meets client needs. Your experience within group benefits business development, particularly in the large group sector of the market, would include strategic thinking, building strong relationships with advisors and clients, and managing successful sales teams. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Provide leadership and coaching to your team of Account Executives to achieve our business objectives.
- Maintain close working relationships with advisors and clients to ensure member satisfaction.
- Develop, implement and track the unit’s action plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic orientations and other administrative units, in a performance management context.
- Support the administrative unit’s action plan by successfully managing individual and team performance.
- Establish management and communication practices that support change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement, and diversity in keeping with Desjardins values.
- Manage select large or complex clients, as necessary, to support their unique needs.
- Work with multi-sector sales teams to drive cross selling opportunities.
- Continuously improve the management of processes under your responsibility.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- A minimum of nine years of relevant experience, including three years of management experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Group benefits business development experience
- Available for travel occasional between offices
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
