Responsibilities:

The Director will serve as a leader and will do the following:

Strategic and Operational Leadership:

  • Provide direction to all members of the Consortium through collaboration in creating a sustainable screening program for risk of Type 1 Diabetes in the Canadian Population
  • Organize and synchronize the activities of the various projects, themes and teams within CanScreenT1D ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met
  • Support building stakeholder relationships and international partnerships
  • Provide leadership for good program governance, quality assurance, management, tracking, finances and planning
  • Share in overall responsibility for the actions and outcomes of CanScreenT1D
  • Lead the CanScreenT1D Coordination Core. The Coordination Core will support stakeholder relationships, ensure that there is a coordinated effort and common objectives across the Consortium, provide support and funding for activities related to Cross-Cutting Themes, provide an operational and administrative hub to coordinate meetings and other activities, develop and maintain the Consortium’s digital presence

Financial/Reporting:

  • Provide financial and budgetary oversight for CanScreen T1D
  • Oversee reports
  • Manage contracts with Consortium institutions

People Management:

  • Lead and support the development of the CanScreen T1D Coordination Core, including developing role definitions, hiring, supervision, and mentorship of the Coordination Core personnel
  • Support research project leads in supporting and mentoring their staff

Governance:

  • Support the development and implement of governance, policies and procedures required for the success of the consortium
