Description:

Reporting to the Senior Director, the People & Culture Coordinator is an integral member of the Townline team and will be trained on, and responsible for undertaking a broad range of duties including HR administration and payroll. The successful candidate is a proven team player, is detail oriented, organized, willing to learn and take on new challenges to gain more experience in People & Culture.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: University Degree or Diploma in a related discipline

  • Experience: 2 + years of work experience in a People & Culture, and/or Payroll

  • Familiarity with recruiting, payroll and benefits administration
  • Knowledge of provincial employment standards
  • Basic knowledge of accounting an asset
  • Strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and a commitment to confidentiality
  • Keen attention to detail and strong administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills
  • Highly organized, motivated, flexible and customer focused
  • Dependable with good time management skills
  • Computer Skills: Strong Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now would be an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain ADP Workforce Now employee profiles accurately and completely
  • Assist with the development, implementation and promotion of Company programs, policies and procedures
  • Active member of the Culture Committee
  • Support the People & Culture Generalist with the recruiting process by:
  • Creating job postings
  • Reviewing/screening resumes
  • Scheduling interviews
  • Tracking the status of candidates and responding with follow-up letters
  • Conducting reference checks
  • Support the Payroll & Benefits Specialist with the payroll process by:
  • Assisting with processing bi-weekly US and Canadian payrolls for hourly, salaried and commission-based employees
  • Reviewing time sheets and other pay documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Enrolling and terminating employees on the various benefit plans
  • Reconciling benefit premium billing statements
  • Assisting with other duties and projects as assigned, including occasional reception relief coverage
