Job description
Analog Devices is seeking a Director of Digital IC Design for the Personal Electronic Solutions (PES) Business Unit, with the primary role of leading a talented team of engineers. The Digital Design team is part of the PES Audio Design group who research, analyze, design, and simulate world-class integrated circuits. These integrated circuits enable high-volume, high-visibility devices from market leaders who require premium audio to differentiate their products to the end consumer.
As a member of the PES leadership team, you will not only manage a design team but also help define and drive the roadmap across a wide breadth of devices. The ubiquity of connected devices as well as the form factor reduction in audio peripherals is pushing the boundaries of existing solutions, calling for novel approaches. Products range from ultra-low power audio converters and amplifiers in advanced mixed-signal process nodes, to devices like Smart Class D amplifiers at ever increasing output power levels.
The successful candidate will join a company with a rich history of producing breakthrough innovative architectures for Class-D amplifiers, delta-sigma DAC’s and ADC’s, and low latency Audio DSPs, to name a few. The successful candidate must have a track record of leading successfully teams and a background of solving complex challenges.

Job Description

  • Actively manage the Digital design organization to facilitate the design and development of devices which meet the demanding requirements of the consumer market, in terms of complexity, development time, and solution cost
  • Work effectively with peers in a Design organization including collaboration with mixed signal design, design verification, physical design and layout teams for block and system integration, and verification at chip level
  • Participate in circuit design, chip level, and tape out reviews to ensure high quality silicon that meets the product requirements
  • Work with product definers and marketing to convert new product ideas into commercially viable devices
  • Translate learnings from product development into methodology changes which improve key metrics on subsequent developments
  • Ensure PES Audio’s needs are addressed in company-wide IC process, Common IP, and packaging initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MSEE + minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in integrated circuit, including 5+ years in a management role
  • Hands on experience in IC design, digital design flows, and relevant state-of-the art development tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a multi-site cross functional team
  • Proven track record of bringing multiple integrated circuits into high volume production
  • Expertise with Signal Processing concepts such as Digital Filters, Interpolation/Decimation and Delta-Sigma Converters
  • Experience with back end digital design flows and checks including STA, GLS, CDC, RDC, LINT, and GLS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on Audio product development experience, whether at the component or system level
  • Familiarity with Design verification methodology and UVM
  • Experience with high level design tools such as Matlab and Simulink
