Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Vice President, Live Entertainment & Events, this position leads the event services team responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of events within Rogers Place. The position ensures all events exceed client expectations and deliver the highest standard of service and safety to all guests, promotors, partners and vendors. In addition to the general responsibilities, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions and special projects, based upon the particular requirements of OEG.
YOUR FOCUS IN THIS ROLE:
- Responsible for overall management of the Events department (including event managers, coordinators and part time staff) and day to day operations for Rogers Place
- Lead and/or assist with planning and execution of events (concerts, sporting, public and private events) in Rogers Place
- Drive team performance to achieve the most efficient operations possible and encourage an entrepreneurial spirit with staff, bringing forward ideas for cost savings and revenue generation.
- Leads the creation of a department project plan with the objective to develop and implement standard operating procedures for the entire event lifecycle.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities as required including interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing and resolving issues
- Oversee the development of the events operating budgets and manage expenditures throughout the fiscal year including forecast and analyzing costs..
- Manages the event assignment schedule and assigns team members to events across Rogers Place
- Schedules and directs OEG and Rogers Place Event Production meetings to ensure flawless planning and execution of all events
- Develops effective working relationships with local regulatory agencies
- Provides expertise and guidance on the planning and implementation of high quality, professionally managed OEG Events
- Develops and implements a full cycle event reporting process utilizing technology and analytics to drive continuous improvement
- Ensures all operational activities related to events held or produced by OEG from preparation of estimates to final settlement are handled in a timely, accurate, thorough, and effective manner
- Identifies opportunities for process and event management improvements following up with developing or enhancing policies and procedures
- Creates and manages Standard Operating Procedures to ensure efficiency, consistency and service excellence is a top priority for all events
- Research new event industry initiatives, technique and elements that can be incorporated into OEG events
- Assists Department Directors with developing and continually reviewing plans for standardization of front and back of house venue presentation operating standards and space use/technical guides
- Works with their team to support the event operations within Fan Park and Plaza @ ICE District
