Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Report to the Associate Vice President, Finance.
- Develop and support a strong team of technical experts with diverse backgrounds, fostering a positive and supportive team culture.
- Provide leadership and expertise in accounting issues, financial planning and analysis activities, investment management, IFRS reporting and standards, and special projects.
- Leverage your expertise to develop and implement Treasury, Banking and Cash Management best practices; and providing oversight on cash planning and forecasting activities.
- Provide leadership support to the staff leading the corporate and GST/HST indirect tax programs, including collaborating with management and external consultants to identify tax planning opportunities.
- Oversee consolidated financial reporting, including monthly and annual financial statements, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Analyze, assess and evaluate financial performance and business processes and make recommendations.
- Provide leadership and guidance on complex, enterprise-wide projects and initiatives, translating strategy into requirements and recommendations.
- Provide board-level reporting on finance and risk matters.
- Develop fraud risk and loss prevention strategies and critically assess recommendations for improvements to critical controls.
- Lead business process and controls work within finance.
- Mentor and train other finance team members in areas of subject matter expertise.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
- You have a post-secondary degree in Business.
- You’re an accounting professional with a CPA designation.
- You have a minimum of 7 years of management experience in a financial planning and analysis role.
- You’ve worked in public practice or have experience researching and advising on complex accounting and tax issues.
- You have strong communication skills, written and verbal, and have proven presentation and facilitation skills.
- You’ve worked in jobs where meticulous organization, prioritization and planning have been vital to success.
- You have the ability and flexibility to take on the unknown and develop business solutions.
