As a Director, Finance, you will provide financial leadership for all aspects of the market including: Accounting, Finance, Treasury and Logistics/Customer Support for entire Canada. Also crucial to this role is building an inclusive, engaged culture where all associates are developed to achieve their potential and live the Breakthru Beverage core values.
This role reports to the Vice President Finance and will be a key business partner to Sales, Trade Marketing and Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Canada’s annual budget process for both BBC & Kindred. Coordinate with all functional senior leaders to ensure active participation, understanding, accountability and ownership of the process and goals.
  • Lead the financial close process and financial performance reporting for both BBC & Kindred including completion of all management reporting, balance sheet reviews and financial control governance. All reporting includes analysis and commentary.
  • Lead the tax reporting process for BBC and Kindred including monthly sales tax filings, annual corporate return filings and ad hoc filings as necessary. Liaise with 3rd party consultants as required.
  • Coordinate all annual audits including internal and external audit, tax compliance for sales and corporate tax filings, supplier promotional spend, bank, insurance, CRA, etc.
  • Lead treasury management for BBC & Kindred including ensuring adequate cash flow to maintain operations, debt management, governance over cash disbursements and collections, management of short term cash investment activities (bankers acceptances).
  • As a leader within BBG maintain a strong organization while developing talent with a focus on diversity & inclusion
  • Provide decision support guidance for BBC including financial analyses and recommendations on potential business/supplier acquisitions, initiatives and programs.
  • Meets with Leadership Team to review financial performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Identifies Gross Profit improvement opportunities in conjunction with Sales and Trade Development
  • Prepares and reports supplier profitability
  • Provides financial guidance for a variety of special projects
  • Collaborates with Regional Finance Lead on cost saving / profit enhancing initiatives and projects
  • Facilitate financial training for all managers
  • Establish and maintain systems and internal controls which verify the integrity of company data and reporting, and protect company assets
  • Ensure compliance with prevailing corporate document retention practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of accounting, finance or related professional work experience
  • Professional certification –CPA
  • 5 years of people management experience
  • Extensive financial analysis, financial modeling, and budgeting experience
  • History of driving process optimization and identifying and implementing financial performance improvements
  • Significant MS Office skills, in particular Excel, and experience with ERP systems, such as SAP
  • In-depth knowledge of key finance and accounting processes such as budgeting, capital investment analysis, financial reporting, credit and collections, Federal and local tax compliance
  • Excellent supervisory, management, and coaching skills
