ABOUT US:
The Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington (CMHA WW) provides a full care system for those with addictions, mental health or developmental needs. We serve everyone from children to adults to seniors, all under one roof. Our programs help individuals and families to lead lives filled with meaning and promise. We have 400 staff at offices in Cambridge, Waterloo, Kitchener, Guelph, Fergus, and Mount Forest.
We are fully accredited by Accreditation Canada and are proud of our Exemplary Status (the highest standing) received at our most recent accreditation exercise (2019).
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree and Accounting designation from the Canadian Institute of CPAs or an internationally recognized accounting body. Master’s degree in applicable field would be an asset.
- Minimum of five years progressive financial management experience at a management level or higher, preferably within the non-profit and/or health/community sector.
- Experience with Great Plains software an asset.
- Understanding of and experience overseeing decision support (including working knowledge of Health Informatics, statistics and MIS interface), information technology and facilities management functions.
- Experience in a unionized environment will be considered an asset.
- Proven ability to apply leadership skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively manage a diverse portfolio and meet position requirements.
- A valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance, as travel is required.
The salary range for this position is $123, 505 - $147, 620 in addition to an exceptional pension plan and full complement of benefits.

Responsibilities:
The Director, Finance will be responsible for the leadership and management of following functions:
- All financial operations of CMHA WW including:
- Ensures compliance with all legislative requirements, Board policies and procedures, funding body criteria and professional standards.
- Monitors financial results and expenditures by using variance analysis, forecasting methodologies and comparison to the fiscal budget.
- Provides strategic and operational recommendations and guidance to the Senior team to attain the organization’s financial goals and targets, and as well to the Board of Directors to fulfil its financial oversight responsibility.
- Leads Facilities services including an up-to-date property management plan for regular maintenance, identification of problems and remedies for all sites owned and/or rented by the organization.
- Ensures information services and systems enable the agency to fulfill reporting requirements as required by funders, legislation and professional standards and support sound decision making
- Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on provincial and local e-health developments and directions.
- Provides supervision of direct reports including but not limited to: hiring, assigning and reviewing work, developing, coaching and monitoring performance.
- Maintains continuous quality improvement of areas within the assigned portfolio including monitoring, analyzing trends and developing and implementing remedies
- Plans and executes Revenue Diversification and Fund Development strategies for growth and sustainability.
- In collaboration with the Senior team, establishes, analyzes, and interprets key performance indicators regarding organizational performance and prepares monthly dashboards.
- Oversees and manages capital and leasing requirements for the organization.
