WHO WE ARE…

The French Language Services Directorate (FLSD) is a team of twenty-six client-focused professionals dedicated to empowering departments to serve and inform Yukoners in French. We foster strong partnerships with other departments and stakeholders, provide strategic advice rooted in language policy and planning, and offer centralized services such as translation, training and bilingual communication advice.

  • Post-secondary education in management, public administration or related field.
  • Significant executive-level management experience within a public sector; developing and implementing strategic plans and programs, leading complex multi-party projects and initiatives, and financial management experience negotiating and administering funding agreements.
  • Proficiency (oral and written) in both English and French.
  • Experience with legislative and constitutional obligations relating to minority language rights is an asset.
  • Specialized knowledge of the language policy and planning field would be considered an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
