It is a listed company since 2007 on the Spanish stock exchange and from 2020, they have culminated this path with the entry into the Spanish IBEX 35 stock exchange.
Founded in 2002, the company has rapidly grown into one of the most significant players in the global solar industry. Solaria is committed to promoting sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon emissions to combat climate change.
They manage plants in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Uruguay and Greece and have a pipeline of more than 14,200 MW and they aim to have installed 18 GW of emission-free energy by 2030, in line with Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Solaria Energia Deutschland has been growing rapidly in the last three years. The German market is one of the main growth areas. Solaria already has a small team in Berlin and is looking to scale up the organization rapidly.
The complexity of the German energy market requires a special focus and a close follow up from the headquarters. Therefore, Solaria is looking to create the role of Director of the German market to align the local strategy with the corporate one, to help to build the team and the contact network in Germany and to guarantee the mutual understanding of both organizations.
The Director should ideally be of a German nationality and have experience of living and working in Spain. The role requires weekly travels between both countries.

RESPONSABILITIES:

The Director of German Market will participate in the setup of Solaria’s strategy for the German market. His/her business criteria will help to align the corporate goals with the local market reality.
He/ She will guarantee the connection between the German market and the subsidiary, making sure that the information flow is efficient and is not affected by the cultural differences.
The Director will have a global view of the German market and will help Solaria leaders to understand and navigate political, regulatory and cultural differences between different regions of the German market.
He/she will participate in building Solaria’s brand and contact network in Germany.
He/she will act as a representative of Solaria on the German market while there is no market CEO in place. Once the subsidiary grows, and has a more solid structure, he/she will continue supporting both the local organization and the HQ in the institutional relations on the local level.
Director of the German market will make sure the subsidiary has the right support from the headquarter. Hs/she will participate in hiring the local team and developing partners’ relations in the market.
Reporting will be a relevant part of the responsibilities of the Director, guaranteeing the quality information flows timely and efficiently within the company according to the quoted company (Ibex 35) requirements.
The responsibilities and accountabilities of the role can grow and transform over time accompanying the development of Solaria in Germany.

Minimum requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field from an accredited program.
  • German national with a native level of German language. A Spanish national with a fluent level of German and experience working in German speaking countries could also be considered.
  • At last15 years of experience including least 4 to 5 years of experience in management, leadership roles
  • Experience working on the international level ideally within quoted service or industrial organizations present on the international level.
  • Additional exposure to more entrepreneurial environments with a hands-on spirit would be beneficial for the role.
  • Diverse experience including different aspects of commercial, business development experience with financial or representation responsibilities would be a plus.
  • The ideal candidate should have a previous experience working in Spain and a good comment of the Spanish language and culture.
  • Previous team leadership experience.
