Position: Director, Global People & Culture
Department: People & Culture (P&C)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
We are currently seeking a Director, Global People & Culture (P&C) to provide leadership to our people strategy. The seasoned P&C leader will apply the collaborative and consultative style in the delivery of the Company’s domestic and international employee programs. The candidate will be involved in program design, communication, process and governance/compliance efforts across our global offices. This impactful position is based in Richmond, BC and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. While this position is starting at Director level, we anticipate a progression to a bigger stage of leadership for the right candidate.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERINCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Administration, Business or Finance.
15+ years of Human Resources experience, with progressive leadership responsibility, or equivalent combination of related training and experience. CPHR required.
Proven experience in all aspects of Human Resources programs, practices and governing legislation
Specialized training or experience in one or more of the following areas: learning and development, performance management, coaching, facilitation, talent assessment.
Experience with global mobility principles and policies in a complex organization is an asset, as would be specific work with the Middle East or Europe from P&C perspective.
Sound judgement, relationship-building, client service and the ability to work both strategically and operationally is crucial.
Consultative style: strong interpersonal skills: ability to coach, advise and guide others as well as lead and motivate others for high performance.
Cross cultural experience is highly valuable.
Responsibilities:
Driving P&C strategy development and execution
Participates in the development and implementation of innovative, global P&C strategies, policies and programs.
Works in conjunction with the P&C team to manage the implementation of country platforms to standardize domestic and field P&C programs.
Acts as the subject matter expert on global mobility issues, including policies, processes, immigration, tax matters and legislative changes.
Manages the administration of the Company’s domestic and international programs, including expatriate benefits.
Serves as a link between remote employees and the corporate office to interpret labour laws and regulations to ensure compliance in P&C practices.
Partners with appropriate third-party vendors for relocation, immigration and benefits programs for global offices.
Leads engagement efforts like the Pulse Check Survey; Team20; and leadership development.
Sponsors the DEI&B initiatives and works with the Committee to drive change.
Partnering with Senior Functional and Business Unit Leaders
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with all business leaders to develop a strong understanding of their objectives and workforce requirements.
Provides advice and guidance on strategic staffing issues such as succession planning, senior staff rotation, structures and change management to minimize legal risks for the Company.
Contributes to the development and implementation of talent and total rewards strategies and provides advisory support to the P&C team and business leaders.
Works in conjunction with the senior leaders in identifying and analyzing trends.
