Responsibilities:
As Director, Head of the Child Rights & Safety team, you are leading a team of 8 children’s rights, safety and wellbeing specialists, program managers and advocates. In the role, you will:
- Oversee our child rights and safety policies; develop, deliver and evaluate tools, guidance and programs to support implementation. This includes overseeing Child Rights Due Diligence as well as Digital Child Safety, Child Safeguarding & Participation, Digital Empowerment and Digital Wellbeing initiatives and programs
- Set strategic direction for the Child Rights & Safety area and lead the deployment of the cross-functional strategy and be responsible for planning, budget, and reporting, e.g., for senior management and external reporting
- Work as a strategic partner and close collaborator for i.e. LEGO GAME, Digital Consumer Engagement and Product & Marketing ensuring the safeguarding of children and protection of their rights and wellbeing offline and online
- Work with critical partners and senior management across business units in finding opportunities for positive impact and in identifying and mitigating potential risks or adverse impact for children and/or reputational risks
- Lead and oversee global partnerships supporting the child rights and safety agenda
- Lead research and insight generation; monitor and assess new trends and external expectations on child rights and safety that informs business decisions while strengthening the credibility and endorsement of the LEGO Group’s work externally
- Lead the engagement and outreach to children and caregivers to empower them to use digital technology, media and play in safe, responsible and ethical ways
- Engage with external partners, policy makers, civil society and organisations to drive positioning of the LEGO Group and to convene industry partners
- Work across the Social Responsibility team in a matrix-like organisation to increase collaboration, scale, and impact, in alignment with the 2032 SR Aspiration
