YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in developing, managing and successfully implementing large scale HR and organizational change initiatives and transformations and a Bachelor’s degree (i.e. human resources, organizational development, sociology, equity studies, communications); advanced degree preferred. A combination of education and experience maybe considered.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
As the Director of HR Employee Experience and Change Management, you will be responsible for leading, developing, implementing and monitoring strategies to drive successful organizational change initiatives related to people and culture, whether initiated by Human Resources or Bank executive leadership. This will also include effective internal communications, and robust employee engagement programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and communication skills to champion a culture of performance and belonging and in alignment with the company’s goals and values.
Examples of past and current organization-wide initiatives include new Vision and Values, Pay Equity program, the Bank’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion strategy and program, the launch of the Banks’ new learning experience platform, the Bank’s approach to hybrid, etc.
You will be reporting directly to the Deputy Managing Director of HR who has the accountability for all Talent Strategy programs.
YOUR KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY ARE:
- Organizational Change Management: You will develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies to facilitate successful organizational transformations and initiatives. You will engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive buy-in and ensure successful adoption of changes.
- Communication Strategy and Execution: Lead the development and execution of a cohesive and effective internal communication strategy for HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals, being mindful of organizational interdependencies.
- Employee Experience, Engagement and Culture: Drive employee engagement initiatives that enhance job satisfaction, productivity, and overall employee well-being. You will also lead the thinking and acting on understanding and enhancing employee experience, the employment relationship, and its influence on the evolution of HR Programs, Policies and Practices.
- Leadership and Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to achieve departmental and organizational objectives, monitoring and adjusting as needed. In addition to formal leadership, you are also an informal leader and coach that must be able to lead and manage initiatives with multiple participants and stakeholders who do not report to you, up to and including the most senior leaders at the Bank.
Specifically, you will:
- Leverage your expertise and knowledge of external trends and best practices to establish priorities for employee engagement initiatives for the medium term.
- Use your network of professional resources to bring in innovative HR program implementation practices – including new digital channels for services and tools.
- Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive buy-in and ensure successful adoption of changes.
- Co-lead with Employee Communications the communications strategy for organization wide initiatives around people and culture.
- Partner with HR’s Senior Leadership team in the engagement of senior executives at the Bank, including developing materials and presenting to the Bank’s most senior executives.
- Craft key messages, create communication plans, and leverage appropriate channels to disseminate information to employees, stakeholders, and the public.
- Lead the employee surveying portfolio for HR, including design and implementation of new surveying approaches.
- Conduct employee engagement and feedback surveys, analyze results, and recommend action plans to address areas of improvement.
- Lead key HR Corporate reporting processes for the department, balancing the need for meaningful discussions with HR leaders, and for succinct and accurate content.
