JOB OVERVIEW

Top human resources (HR) leader for our Somerset, New Jersey operations comprising of 800 Associates. Responsible for the full range of HR activities including talent acquisition, employee relations & engagement, employee & leadership development, HRMS, employee benefits, and performance and rewards. Responsible for delivering and owning a workforce that has the necessary talent, knowledge/skills, engagement, and culture to achieve the organization goals.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 12-15 years human resources experience with demonstrated experience and expertise in broad fields of human resources to include strategic planning, talent acquisition, talent management, organization design and development, performance and rewards, employee engagement, in a mid-sized or large company. Seven to ten (7-10) years leading an HR team.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, interfacing & influencing senior leadership and all levels of the organization.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations with time based in a plant.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal and organization skills; and, demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence inspire people, including building high levels of trust and commitment.
  • Exceptional performance and record of achievement demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build talented, engaged, and high performing work teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the successful execution of high-performance human capital practices.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in broad fields of human resources including organization design, restructuring and change management, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and relations, talent and organization development, performance management, and compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of the Somerset senior leadership team and partners with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies.
  • Participates in the strategic planning process for the operations.
  • Develops and articulates an HR strategy to drive business performance.
  • Drives a passion for high performance human capital practices and outcomes through business leadership.
  • Flawlessly executes HR processes.
  • Thought partner to leaders providing decision support on the human capital dimension of the business.
  • Drives organizational and culture change and manages the delivery of HR services to all Associates.
  • Aligns organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities to achieve goals.
  • Oversees compensation and benefits programs.
  • Oversees the Associate Handbook and develops and implements updates to align with current laws, regulations and best practices.
  • Ensures employment legal compliance.
  • Builds a highly talented workforce through strong talent acquisition.
  • Builds a highly engaged workforce resulting in high associate retention.
  • Leads the employee relations strategy. Handles all employee relation issues including investigations and complaints and brings matters to effective resolution.
  • Ensures the Performance and Rewards programs including the annual performance management process are effectively executed.
  • Ensures compensation levels are in line with market and internal compensation philosophy.
  • Develops and executes process for onboarding new Associates, orienting and assimilating new managers.
  • Leads the Talent Review process and work closely with leaders to understand individuals/teams, develop succession plans and growth strategies for employees, and ultimately drives focus and accountability for building a world class organization.
  • Builds highly competent leadership teams and workforce. Develops and uses tools that will develop people to include robust performance management, leadership training, 360 feedback instruments, individual development plans, etc.
  • Partners with leaders on strategic initiatives, organization development, change management, and employee relations issues to strengthen overall organizational capability.
  • Train leaders on leadership and management best practices.
  • Drives a high-performance culture.
  • Drives a philosophy of employee differentiation to recognize and reward our best and use coaching and counseling to continually improve performance levels.
  • Fosters a climate of strong accountability, responsibility, ownership, and results orientation.
  • Champions the use of analytics to measure the effectiveness of human capital practices and make changes as needed.
  • Manages the relationship and performance of the Contingent Workforce provider(s) ensuring level levels of performance and service.
  • Inspires HR team through a compelling vision/strategy and care for people.
  • Builds an empowered, engaged, and high performing team by hiring top talent and developing people. A coach and mentor who seeks to share knowledge and grow talent across the organization-your team will want to follow you.
  • Creates development experiences that will grow staff.
  • Ensure focus and accountability, facilitate collaboration, continuous improvement, and achievement of results. Execute strategies that deliver goals with a commitment to excellence and dissatisfaction for the status quo.
