QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a 4-year university degree in Computer Science or related field is required
- A basic ITIL certification, and an advanced technology certification, such as networking certification are desirable.
- 10 years’ experience of IT infrastructure services in an enterprise environment
- 5 years’ management experience in the ICT infrastructure context
- 5 years’ experience in handling IT infrastructure-related budgets and overseeing IT infrastructure in a data centre and a cloud environment
- 3 years’ experience in leading and implementing enterprise ICT infrastructure strategies
- Specialization in systems administration is desirable.
- One or more advanced technology certifications (such as a networking certification) are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to keep skills and knowledge up to date through professional activities and/or additional formal training.
- A broad knowledge and understanding of current information and communication technologies and their relation to the higher education business and academic strategic objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of server hardware, network hardware, backup technology and cloud-based systems.
- Thorough understanding and significant experience with RFP and other processes for acquiring technology.
- The project management skills to manage large-scale projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to articulate the college’s vision of technology, gain understanding of complex technical issues, or to seek agreement on sensitive issues that may involve budget, human resources, conflict resolution, or project deliverables.
- High level negotiating skills to secure the best contracts with vendors and partners.

Responsibilities:
The Director, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Infrastructure is responsible for the IT infrastructure function for Durham College and Ontario Tech University. The infrastructure function includes networking, telecommunications, servers, the data centre and applications that tie into the infrastructure such as Active Directory, email, relevant cloud-based applications, etc.
