Description:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12+ years). 5+ years of management responsibility Strong leadership skills In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 10+ years of localization management experience, preferably in life sciences.
- Excellent knowledge of internal systems and business processes to support data-driven decision making
- Extensive expertise in the application of project and personnel management principles, including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and staff members simultaneously in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated ability to understand, present and analyze data in multiple formats for consumption by end users
- Results-oriented and credible leadership style with a proven track record to mobilize, encourage efficiency, and lead in a multi-disciplinary team setting with a strong emphasis on teamwork across functional groups
- Must be extremely efficient, well organized and demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Sophisticated oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
Responsibilities:
SUMMARIZED PURPOSE:
Provides strategic direction and leadership in the management and execution of operations, resources, strategy and communications planning for a global organization comprised of multiple teams with goal to achieve departmental and organizational business goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborates, innovates and consults with senior leadership to identify and define metrics that drive strategy, performance and efficiency for business.
- Provides leadership to department team by establishing exciting, motivating and collaborative work environment, and building an effective and productive team passionate about overall corporative objectives.
- Provides subject matter leadership and project planning to develop and deploy solutions to achieve departmental and interpersonal business imperatives, goals and objectives.
- Drives leadership.
- Performs technology and tools as applicable.
- Drives innovation and streamlining of processes at all times. Leads staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations.
- Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations.
- Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.
MANAGEMENT ROLE:
Advises through lower management levels. Has responsibility for managing a function that includes multiple related departments. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by executive management) and not have subordinate supervisors or employees. May manage employees across multiple regions.
