QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS (ABOUT YOU):
- 5+ years leading a B2B sales team in a professional sales environment, with demonstrated success in contract sales
- Advanced knowledge of core business processes (Customer planning and management, sales and distribution, financial reporting, training, quality assurance)
- Completion of post-secondary education
- Strong financial and business acumen and ability to properly plan and execute business plans
- Demonstrated skills in the area of consultative selling, networking and negotiations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence a variety of key stakeholders
- Ability to understand and manage compliance to contracts
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple initiatives at the same time
- Ability to learn the use of proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth
- Solid analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports and deriving insights from data
- Embraces change and champions corporate initiatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities:
ROLE:
The Director of Contract Sales is an integral member of the senior sales leadership team. This position will be included in all strategic planning, decisions, and execution as it pertains to region sales. This position will drive the region’s strategic plan for growing local contract sales, increasing penetration and reducing lost business. Specifically, this leadership role is responsible for driving the performance management, coaching, and deployment of the region’s Contract Sales Organization with the goal of enhancing the customer experience and achieving the region’s financial plan.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Key Account Representative, Business Development Manager, and Contract & Bids Coordinator to service and develop Contract Sales customers within the region and deliver the agreed upon financial plan and targets
- Oversee the allocation of resources to customer accounts
- Oversee account management and service level of contract customers, escalation point of contact for customer issues
- Understand Customer contracts and enforce compliance mutually
- Develop annual target list of Contract Sales prospects
- Engage with team sales pursuits to win Prospect’s business and achieve growth targets
- Develop and maintain positive working relationship with fellow associates at Sysco distribution sites as well as corporate level to assure service and sales goals are met
- Participate in company functions, customer visits and customer events
- Attends and participates in general sales and district meetings
- Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data
- Actively utilizes Sysco proprietary CRM tool for planning and forecasting for sales growth and maintaining updated customer files
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Understands both the economic and cultural value that a safe organization with minimal environmental impact brings to an organization.
- Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by providing necessary resources and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.
