Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Manufacturing Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Manufacturing organization. This includes activities such as budgeting, forecasting and financial/operational analysis and reporting. The role requires close collaboration with senior leaders in operations, supply chain, and other key departments to ensure financial targets are met and strategic initiatives are supported.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and lead the annual budget and forecasting process.
- Prepare and present financial results to senior management, highlighting trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Help connect the dots between performance against operational metrics and overall financial performance to drive accountability within the Manufacturing organization.
- Support the standup of a robust Sales and Operations Planning process (S&OP) ensuring that there is a linkage between finance and operations forecasts.
- Cost and Inventory Management:
- Develop comprehensive product level gross margin reporting package that speaks to variances period-over-period, versus budget/forecast and highlights key drivers.
- Support implementation and tracking of cost reduction initiatives and efficiency improvements.
- Support cost accounting with annual standards roll and conduct variance analysis for labor and overhead costs.
- Monitor and report on inventory stock levels and support the supply planning process.
- Strategic Partnership:
- Partner with the operations team to develop and implement strategies that enhance profitability and productivity.
- Provide financial guidance on capital investments, product pricing, and supply chain optimization.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and support strategic projects.
- Technology and Systems:
- Leverage financial and manufacturing systems to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and systems that support financial and operational goals.
