About the Opportunity
The passionate senior communications leader will use data and insights to build strong communications strategies that solve problems and drive business results.

The Director, MT CPA Strategy, Insights & CommTech will be a strategic partner to the MT CPA leadership team that is supporting J&J MedTech – Johnson & Johnson’s $30B+ medical technology division – as it breaks barriers to better health for millions of patients around the world. This highly visible role, which requires a strength in operations and all-things-digital and a strong foundation in communications excellence, will be a key contributor in enhancing the creativity, connectivity, efficiency, and ultimately the business impact of the MT CPA organization, which is accountable for:

  • Building and protecting brand reputation through paid, earned, and owned media and public affairs
  • Driving business growth through strategic marketing and commercial communications
  • Mobilizing business strategy, activating employee culture, and managing change through employee engagement
  • Positively impacting society through partnerships and programs around the world

Responsibilities

The role oversees all matters related to communications strategy, CommTech tools, communications and change management, operational effectiveness (including budget and vendor management) within the MT CPA organization. Key accountabilities include:

  • An integrated, cross-audience global communications strategy and plan that supports MedTech business goals
  • An MTCPA transformation agenda and operating rhythm designed to keep the MT CPA team current, connected, and engaged
  • A “CommTech stack” or set of tools to help the MT CPA team operationalize its communications strategy and measure progress over time
  • A research agenda aimed at listening and developing deep stakeholder knowledge and insights to inform communications strategy and planning
  • A comprehensive, cross-audience digital editorial calendar in Airtable
  • Digitized ‘playbooks’ and workflows for common activities, such as event planning, M&A communications, editorial planning, organization communications, media relations, and reputation campaigns
  • A suite of regular reports, dashboards and recommendations based on insights to highlight the achievements and impact of the MT CPA team
  • MTCPA budget and contracts with external vendors
  • Communications and change management within the MT CPA team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, MBA or Graduate Studies a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in Communications and/or Marketing
  • 5+ years of people/team leadership; experience hiring and managing external agency partners
  • A seasoned communications leader with deep understanding of how to build reputation, drive growth, activate culture, and impact society through strategic communications
  • Ability to influence and manage change at all levels of a highly matrixed, global organization
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence
  • Strength in ‘CommTech’ (digital communications) technology; demonstrated experience working in Airtable, Microsoft Suite, and a wide range of social/digital communications channels and measurement tools
  • Experience in using data and insights to understand the effectiveness of communications activities and to inform communications strategy and planning
  • Recognized for a proactive, collaborative, can-do approach to work
  • Strong writing, presentation, communication, and project management skills; experience in creating compelling data visualization and storytelling
  • Natural collaborator with a proven track record of managing multiple stakeholders, driving new approaches, and measurable results
  • Ability to hire and lead direct reports and mission-based teams through a rapid pace of change with a high level of ambiguity
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and an ability to deliver results under tight time constraints
    Salary
    The base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $244,950 USD.
    Bonus
    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
