Description:
CHBA’s national office is seeking a dynamic leader for its Net Zero Home Labelling Program. Reporting to the Senior Director, Net Zero Housing, the Director, Net Zero Home Labelling Program (NZHLP) will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the voluntary program that distinguishes and recognizes Net Zero and Net Zero Ready Homes and the participating builders/renovators, focused on energy efficiency and soon also emissions reductions and resilience. The Director will lead the ongoing efforts to maintain and update the Technical & Administrative Requirements (with support from the Technical Manager), as well as Educational initiatives, and Marketing & Communications initiatives (with support from the communications team). The Director will enhance existing and build new strategic relationships with key stakeholders from across Canada to understand their needs and will participate in purposeful engagement activities to support the growth and ongoing success of the NZHLP. TECHNICAL & ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS
- Optimize, manage and continue to develop the participant and home qualification processes including training administration, annual registrations, invoicing, and database updates.
- Work with the Technical Manager to utilize the Net Zero Technical Committee (TC) for their insight and guidance for the ongoing refinement of the Net Zero Home Labelling Program Requirements.
- Oversee all management aspects related to Qualified Net Zero Service Organizations and Energy Advisors.
EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES
- Lead and implement a continuous improvement process, identifying evolving educational, training, and capacity development needs, and design and develop program evaluation activities including data collection to measure the success and impact of initiatives, ensuring efforts are effective.
- Deploy strategies for the optimal use of existing information resources, including the lessons learned/results from CHBA Net Zero Applied Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) projects, the CHBA Manuals, Natural Resources Canada’s LEEP Guides, CHBA webinars, and other tools to ensure the broader market capitalizes on our continuous learning efforts. Identify where new resources/materials/tools are needed and facilitate their development and implementation.
- Manage the delivery and all activities that support the broader uptake of the NZHLP training courses via our Absorb Learning Management System (LMS), including ongoing content updates, and the design and development of new content to mobilize the knowledge and practices developed through the industry leaders, supporting market preparedness for the cost-effective implementation and compliance of the highest feasible tiered energy codes, including the operational and embodied emissions planned for the 2025 and 2030 codes, and resilience best practice guidelines/standards in collaboration with the technical team.
- Oversee relations with capacity development stakeholders including the Qualified Net Zero Service Organizations and Trainers, our network of local and provincial HBAs, and other key stakeholders.
- Champion the execution of the new Net Zero solutions video catalogue and leverage it as an educational resource for program participants, enabling builders/renovators to reduce their time and risk identifying, exploring, and adopting innovations.
EDUCATION
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in a related field, such as Business Administration.

EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of recent related practical work experience in a program management role, including engaging multiple and various internal and external key stakeholders, designing and delivering online/asynchronous adult educational and capacity building initiatives, and industry marketing and communications efforts.

KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge and understanding of program administration and management best practices.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of adult education, e-learning systems and content development.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of program marketing and communications best practices.
- Understanding of the residential construction industry, its workflows, processes, and key stakeholders.
- Understanding of residential voluntary home labelling programs.
- Understanding of energy efficiency, GHG emissions reductions, and resilience programming in the residential construction industry.
- Asset: Knowledge of industry association and not-for-profit operations.
- Asset: Knowledge of Lean & Continuous Improvement practices.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Competency with Microsoft Office including MS Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
- High competence in program management, with the ability to develop and manage budgets, correcting for variances as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; confident in leading meetings and communicating ideas in a professional and friendly manner.
- Detail oriented with demonstrated organizational and time management skills, having the ability to prioritize and keep track of multiple competing projects and deadlines, able to follow through and complete tasks with high-quality output.
- Demonstrated customer support and problem-solving skills, able to answer questions, handle complaints, and follow up with customers.
- Asset: Experience with Monday.com or other customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
- Asset: Experience with Absorb Learning Management System (LMS) or similar systems.
- Asset: Bilingual in English and French.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver an annual Operations Plan, outlining the steps and actions that must be taken to achieve the goals and objectives of the 3-year strategic plan.
