Our Director, New Business responsibilities will consist of individual contributor work and management work, with the goal of being full management within 18-24 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for reviewing and scrubbing applications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Mentor, develop, and provide feedback to team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Occasionally order and ensure follow-up on medical exams and attending physician statements.
  • Monitor case progress, track down requirements, and provide ongoing status updates, escalating as needed.
  • Reconcile the Modern Lfie AMS requirements with carrier portal requirements.
  • Review application information, including medical history, identify issues that could present a problem, and proactively secure information to expedite the process – if necessary, researching and presenting alternative solutions.
  • Support agents in the underwriting process and be on the front lines of agent communication.
  • Continuously look for ways to expedite and improve our processes and services.
  • Maintain positive relationships with agents, underwriters, and the internal team.
  • Oversee KPI metrics to include caseload balancing, task completion, SLAs, and time to issue.
  • Oversee and participate in monthly calls with Modern Life’s preferred carriers’ new business management team.
  • Vendor management (APS vendors, EHR vendors, Exam vendors, Ipipeline)
